Our process includes hooking up a 20 horse-power
engine to the plenum called the General.
After
the large vacuum is in place we carefully remove each
register cover and use a high pressure Air Gun to get
all the dust you can see in the first few feet. (Which
is at best all you get with some bottom dollar duct
cleaners)
Next
we run a tool called an air sweep through every
trunkline, blasting out all the caked on dirt and grime
that has built up over the years.
Then on the supply and return lines we use a tool
called the “Viper,” which is a rubber hose propelled
in a a drill like motion that sprays out
highly pressurized air removing even more build up in
these larger duct lines.
Finally we spray an EPA approved sanitizing agent into the
system, killing all the germs, mold and bacteria that do
not get out with a regular cleaning. (The agents used
are people and pet friendly; there is no odor.)
We end by doing the same thing to the cold air
returns, which are sometimes dirtier than the heat
registers.
